The upcoming Memorial Day holiday marks the beginning of the summer season. Whether taking vacations, moving to a new city, or taking advantage of Summer’s most sizzling events, a fresh wardrobe is essential to make these moments especially memorable.

Summer is centered around fun in the sun, simple and relaxed silhouettes, and a certain chicness that is unlike the other three seasons. Pared down looks are easy to move around in and are effortlessly stylish.

Boyfriend jeans, silk and chambray shorts, and loose fitting pants are the ‘It’ items of the season. Add a silk printed or embellished top for an elevated detail.

Leather is year round. Don’t be afraid to embrace the beauty that is the mixture of short-shorts and luxe-leather! Other warm-weather leather options are neutral handbags made of exotic skin or a go-to crossbody that will enhance any summertime look. In some regions, the summer breeze calls for lightweight outwear. A leather jacket is an item one should be able to pull out at any moment to accentuate the look and also serve a functional purpose.

Swimwear is an inevitable part of the summer spruce-up. Pick a body-type appropriate suit that will enhance the best features of the body. Pair with coverups that are easy-on/easy-off and not sensitive to contact with moisture (i.e., a hoodie or lightweight cotton dress).

Don’t bother finding the perfect, trendy sandal-of-the-moment. Stick with black and white or metallics that will last a few seasons. Accessories should be just as important and thought out as the elements of the outfit. Think longevity!
